About the Firm

The firm was founded in Atlanta, Georgia, by DeWitte Thompson in 1976 and became Thompson & Slagle, P.C. in December, 1989. In 2011, it became Thompson & Slagle, LLC. The firm is located in Suwanee, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta.
Since its founding, Thompson & Slagle, LLC has grown and developed a wide range of expertise and offerings from construction litigation to estate planning. Our attorneys are devoted to giving our clients the results they want and deserve. While we are a small firm, we offer the expertise and efficiency of a large firm, while providing you the personal attention to​detail and responsiveness to achieve the best results possible.
The firm features a wide range of specialties in order to fully accommodate our clients. We represent surety and insurance companies in all phases of their business, including claims litigation and investigation; subrogation and indemnity claims; adjustment; market conduct examinations; and all other litigation. In addition, we represent contractors, subcontractors,
design professionals and owners in construction-related litigation. We also represent individuals and corporations involved in wrongful death and catastrophic tort actions, products liability actions, professional liability actions and personal injury cases. In order to fully accommodate our corporate and business principal clients, we offer business formation, estate planning and related services.

DeWitte Thompson

DeWitteThompson, the firm’s founding partner, began his practice in 1975 after obtaining his law degree from the University of Georgia. Over his career he has litigated countless civil cases in the areas of surety law, construction and personal injury.

John D. Alexander

John Alexander was admitted to practice in Georgia in 2001 after receiving his undergraduate degree from Georgia State University, a graduate degree from the University of Mercer and his law degree from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law. John is active in all areas of the firm’s practice and appears in all trial and appellate courts in the State, focusing on surety and construction litigation.

Kelly Herrin

Kelly Herrin was admitted to the Georgia bar in 1997, after receiving her law degree from the University of Georgia, where she served on the Managing Board for the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law. She also served as the secretary/treasurer of the Mock Trial Board.
